In Between all chairs?/Zwischen allen Stühlen?

European security architecture is in crisis! Eastern Europe and South Caucasus are two regions that are especially exposed to the strategic uncertainties, arising to a considerable degree from the current confrontation between Russia and the West. The conference aimed to give civil society representatives – journalists, scientists, think tanker and people from the NGO world – of the so-called “states in-between” a platform to voice and discuss their ideas on the future outlook of an inclusive and stable political order for the region and to escape the competitive dynamics between the two geopolitical poles.

Die europäische Sicherheitsarchitektur befindet sich in einer Krise! Besonders hart spüren dies Länder in Osteuropa und im Südkaukasus. Sie nehmen eine Zwischenposition im Spannungsfeld der konkurrierenden politischen Ordnungsvorstellungen des Westens und Russlands ein. Die Tagung bot Journalistinnen und Journalisten, Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern sowie Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern aus NGOs und Think Tanks aus diesen  „Zwischenstaaten“ eine Plattform, um gemeinsam  Ideen für eine inklusiven und stabilen Ordnung für die Region zu entwickeln und der kompetitiven Logik externer Einflussversuche zu entkommen.
